As the Summer approaches, the library is getting ready for the 2021 Summer Reading Program. Last year, participants were encouraged to download Beanstack to digitally track books read and complete reading challenges. This year will be the same except there will be more programs in person and outside for entertainment. The library is expecting some really great talent for summer and this year, there is something for everyone. There will be prizes and giveaways for those who are participating in events and of course, there will be the annual End of Summer Party to celebrate those who have ran the race to win the grand prizes!
On April 19, the library extended lobby hours for in-person services and browsing in the stacks. See new hours below to make plans for your next visit to the library. Remember, face masks or appropriate face coverings are still required and there are now more places to use the computer. The library is also introducing the new Technology Lending Program for those who may be interested in checking out a Chromebook or iPad. New Launchpads have replaced the Nabi Tablets of old and are now available for parents who are looking for educational materials for their children. These Launchpads, unlike the Nabi Tablets, are available for checking out and taking home. To check out technology at the library, you'll need an active library card. Those interested in checking out a Launchpad or Chromebook should call the library for more details.
There are various resources such as Tutor.com and Mango Languages that can be of assistance to anyone interested in furthering education, getting extra help with studying or perhaps writing a resume. Libby is the new e-book download app and if you haven't downloaded it yet, you are missing out. Try Libby from Overdrive for free and start listening to your audio books on the go!
