Greene County Library Curbside Service

Updated: Jul 9, 2020

You heard it correctly, we now have curbside pick up available! If you've been looking for information and details on how to get started, we have included some frequently asked questions below. You can send a message on our website www.azalealibraries.org.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram and like us on Facebook to stay updated on the Summer Reading Program!

How are we contacting patrons?

The library remains closed to the public, at this time.

However, we will begin offering contact-free curbside service starting Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Books will be available for pick-up by appointment only and patrons are limited to 5 items per PINES account.

Curbside Hours are:

Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri: 10 AM-2 PM

Thurs: 3 PM-7 PM

We are starting the curbside service with the patron holds that were "stranded" at the library when we temporarily closed in March. If you have books that were already at the library when we closed, you will receive a phone call from us soon to arrange an appointment to pick up your holds.

Prior to May 26th, patrons with an available item(s) on hold will be contacted via email or telephone by a library staff member who will schedule a specific pick-up time for those materials. Patrons are allowed only five (5) books per pick-up.

● Patrons must park in designated parking spaces and should remain in their vehicles at all times during the transaction. Details will be provided when an agreed upon pick-up time is scheduled.

● Patrons arriving without an appointment will be asked to return home and contact the library to schedule an appointment for another day -- no exceptions.

How do I schedule a curbside pick-up?

Currently, we are only scheduling appointments for items that were on hold before our temporary closure and items we have received from our warehouse. We are working through our recovery phases and anticipate we will start pulling new holds for patrons in a week or two. You are able to place items on hold through the PINES app: (are both Apple and Android versions)

How do I place a hold for curbside pick-up?

You can place holds through the PINES app: (are both Apple and Android versions) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.kenstir.apps.pines

or through the PINES website: http://gapines.org/eg/opac/home

If you use the library website, you will need to log into your PINES account before you are able to place a hold. (Click on the "My Account" button in the upper right side of the screen.) Please let us know if you need more information or help with your PINES account.

Are you accepting donations?

At this time, we are not accepting donations. We are working on a phased recovery plan for our libraries, but have not determined when we will start accepting donations again.

Please continue to visit our website at: http://www.azalealibraries.org/ and Library Facebook pages for updates. We appreciate your patience during this time.

How can I get access to a public computer?

At this time our libraries remain closed to the public. We are working through phases of recovery and hope to be able to offer limited computer access during a scheduled time next month. Please contact the library if you have further questions and visit our website at: www.azalealibraries.org for updated information. Thank you for your patience!

Can I send a fax or make a copy/print?

Yes, but we will have to do the work for you since our libraries are still closed to the public. All transactions will take place within our limited service hours of: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri: 10am-2pm; Thurs: 3pm-7pm.

If you have a need to fax, print a document, or make a copy, please contact us at 706-453-7276 and a staff member will instruct you how to go about this process.

We need your help to make this process a success:

● Please arrive on time! If a patron is more than 10 minutes late, their time slot will be cancelled and a new pick up time will be scheduled on a different day.

● Patrons are not to loiter or interact with other patrons or library staff during pick up.

● Staff will not accept any books or other items from a patron during curbside service.

● Please continue to return items in the book drop.

● Member libraries will not accept any donated items until further notice.
